Dr. Sandella’s book and guided-meditation CD, Releasing the Inner Magician (RIM), was utilized as the primary intervention during an 8-week program to reduce the symptoms of Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS).  Primary researcher Dr. Audrey Boxwell found that there was a significant reduction in the hallmark symptoms of IBS  and a significant increase in the quality of life for members of the treatment group  who utilized the RIM 8 week program.  The following recommendations come from this research and can be generalized to other stress-related conditions (nutritional suggestion for gastro-intestinal symptoms).  
 
Food Diet Suggestions:

1. Eliminate milk products and MSG as much as possible.
2. Limit fruit and sugar intake as much as possible.
3. Drink at least 8-10 glasses of water a day. 

Visualization:

1. Releasing the Inner Magician (RIM) Workbook & CD.
2. Experience 1 of the earth, air, water and fire meditations 2X per week for 8-weeks.

Journaling:  

1. Write insights immediately after each meditation to anchor them in the body.
2. Patients who journaled everyday had the greatest reduction in symptoms.
